Depth

Depth is a real-time measure of how much you can buy or sell before the price moves significantly.

Definition

Depth is the size of orders sitting in the order book at various price levels. Deep books let you trade large without slippage.

Plain-English explanation

A market with $10k of bids between $0.48 and $0.50 is deeper than one with $2k. Depth matters most when you're sizing a trade — can you move $5,000 without causing slippage?
