Dispute window

If a resolution is wrong, you have limited time to dispute before it becomes final.

Prediction Markets 101 editorial team Updated April 16, 2026 1 min read

Definition

A time period after an oracle proposes a resolution during which anyone can dispute the outcome. Polymarket's is typically 2 hours; Kalshi's is typically 48 hours.

Plain-English explanation

On Polymarket, a disputed market escalates to a UMA token holder vote. On Kalshi, Kalshi staff investigate and make a final call under CFTC oversight. Most markets pass through their dispute window without incident.
