Definition
A seed phrase is a 12- or 24-word sequence that encodes your wallet's private key. Whoever has the seed phrase controls the wallet.
Plain-English explanation
Seed phrases follow the BIP-39 standard. Words are drawn from a 2,048-word dictionary. Store seed phrases offline — paper or metal backup. Never store digitally (screenshots, password managers, cloud). Polymarket support will never ask for your seed phrase.
