Definition
A cryptographic signature is proof, generated by a wallet's private key, that the wallet owner authorized a specific action.
Plain-English explanation
Signatures are unforgeable without the private key. They're verified against the wallet's public key. Polymarket uses signatures for trade orders (via the CLOB) and for wallet authentication sessions.
